Organic Perspectives
Case Studies
It’s all very well providing information to people and urging them to be proactive about choosing alternative energies or using renewable resources. But where do you start and what is feasible?
Well nearly everything is feasible in the right circumstances and all that is needed is for demonstrations to illustrate how things can be achieved. Seeing the thing working and having someone to consult can break down all the imaginary barriers we all invent.

In New Zealand I have been happily drinking rain water from the roof of our house for the last five years and the guy at the top of the hill has a 200ft bore that supplies his own freshly filtered ground water. In the UK that idea is unthinkable.  This indicates that there are many ways of doing things that might not necessarily be obvious. In some countries it might be routine for a riverside village to establish their own micro-hydro facility and then sell the power back to the power company for example.

The Case Studies I have chosen illustrate the sort of ideas that have emerged and been put into practice around the world to save energy, water and as an off shoot, time. The closing gambit in many of the examples is that opting for the conservation of energy or water also saves money. It’s good ethics as well as good business sense. You can’t help feeling optimistic.
